J&K Police Felicitate Ranji Champions, Say Team Has Made Entire UT Proud

Srinagar, Feb 28 : Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday congratulated the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Team for their historic Ranji Trophy triumph, saying the players have brought immense pride to the Union Territory.

In a post shared on X, as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, J&K Police lauded the team for lifting the prestigious domestic title and described the victory as a moment of collective celebration for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir clinched their maiden Ranji Trophy title after securing a decisive first-innings lead against eight-time champions Karnataka in the final. Playing their first-ever Ranji final, J&K posted a commanding 584 in reply to Karnataka’s 293, before reaching 342/4 in their second innings to seal the championship on aggregate advantage.

The triumph marked the end of a 67-year wait for the coveted domestic crown and signalled a new chapter in the region’s cricketing history. The team’s balanced performance with both bat and ball throughout the season drew praise from cricketing circles across the country.
