New Delhi, Mar 15: The Election Commission of India is set to announce the schedule for upcoming assembly elections in five states and one Union Territory later this evening.
Sources told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC that the poll body has convened a press conference at 4 PM in New Delhi to declare the election programme for West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam and the Union Territory of Puducherry.
The terms of the legislative assemblies in these regions are scheduled to end between May and June this year.
Meanwhile, the final electoral rolls for the states and Puducherry have already been published following the Special Intensive Revision of the voters’ list, officials said. (KNC)
