Anantnag: Non-Gazetted employees of Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag today expressed serious concern over the continued delay in finalization of Recruitment Rules (RRs) for employees of newly established Government Medical Colleges of Jammu & Kashmir.
The employees stated that despite completing more than six years of service since their appointments in 2019, they are still working without finalized Recruitment Rules, resulting in stagnation of career progression, non-conduct of DPCs, absence of promotions, and lack of a proper service hierarchy.
The employees further said that although a draft of the Recruitment Rules was prepared months ago, the same has still not been forwarded to ARI despite repeated assurances from the concerned authorities that the process would be completed shortly.
The employees highlighted that around 3,000 Non-Gazetted employees working in the newly established GMCs of Anantnag, Baramulla, Doda, Rajouri, and Kathua continue to suffer due to the absence of proper service rules and promotional avenues.
The employees of GMC Anantnag, while extending support to employees of other newly established GMCs, appealed to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Omar Abdullah Sahab, Hon’ble Health Minister Ms. Sakina Itoo, Secretary Health & Medical Education Department, and all concerned authorities to immediately intervene and ensure timely finalization of Recruitment Rules.
The employees reiterated that their movement is peaceful and aimed only at seeking justice, transparent service rules, and timely resolution of long-pending employee issues.”
