Srinagar, Jan 22: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) on Wednesday issued an advisory warning of possible temporary power disruptions across various parts of the Valley due to strong winds.
In a statement, KPDCL said that electricity supply may be affected in certain areas as a precautionary safety measure to prevent damage to infrastructure and avoid any untoward incidents.
The power utility advised residents to stay away from loose or hanging electric wires and avoid touching electric poles, transformers or fallen power lines.
Consumers have also been advised to keep electrical appliances unplugged during power fluctuations to prevent damage.
KPDCL said its teams are on high alert and restoration work will be taken up on priority once weather conditions improve.
The power corporation also appealed to the public to cooperate with the department and follow safety guidelines.
