Awantipora, June 5: People’s Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti on Friday visited the AIIMS project site at Awantipora to review the progress of the prestigious healthcare institution, which was initiated in 2015.
During her visit, Mehbooba assessed the ongoing work and expressed concern over delays in the completion of the project. She emphasized the importance of expediting construction and ensuring that the facility becomes operational at the earliest to benefit the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Highlighting the significance of AIIMS Awantipora in strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the region, the PDP chief urged the authorities concerned to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe and avoid further delays.
She said the timely completion of the institute is essential to provide advanced medical facilities and reduce the burden on patients who are often forced to travel outside the Union Territory for specialized treatment.(KNC)
