According to an official statement issued by the CBI, the searches were carried out in Lucknow, Ayodhya, Kushinagar, Pratapgarh and Amethi as part of an ongoing investigation into the alleged diversion and misappropriation of government funds from the Basic Education Department.
The agency said it registered the case on June 8, 2026, in compliance with an order passed by the Allahabad High Court’s Lucknow Bench. The case pertains to alleged financial irregularities and embezzlement involving government funds meant for educational purposes.
The FIR names five accused, including a then Junior Accounts Clerk of the Basic Education Department in Gauriganj, Amethi, a Block Quality Coordinator, a Block MIS Coordinator, a Headmaster of a Primary School in Jagdishpur, and an Assistant Teacher posted in Gauriganj.
