Anantnag, June 22: In a major step towards strengthening security arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026, Anantnag Police has established strategically positioned high-rise observation posts, popularly known as Machan Morchas, at key locations along the pilgrimage route and other vulnerable areas.
The elevated surveillance points have been set up to provide security personnel with a wider field of vision, enabling continuous monitoring of the surroundings and enhancing situational awareness. The initiative forms part of the comprehensive security strategy being implemented by Anantnag Police to ensure a safe, secure, and incident-free pilgrimage.
Officials said that the Machan Morchas will facilitate effective area domination, early detection of any suspicious movement, and prompt response to emerging situations. Trained security personnel deployed at these vantage points will maintain round-the-clock vigilance to ensure seamless surveillance and coordinated security operations.
The deployment of these high-rise observation posts reflects the proactive approach of Anantnag Police in reinforcing the security grid and safeguarding the thousands of devotees expected to undertake the annual pilgrimage.
