New Delhi, July 1: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a one-year extension in the service of Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of the 1989 batch.
According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday, Misri’s tenure has been extended beyond July 14, 2026, and will now continue up to July 14, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The extension has been granted under the provisions of Fundamental Rule (F.R.) 56(d), which allows the government to extend the service of senior officials in the public interest.
