New Delhi, July 18: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday delivered a strong message against terrorism, asserting that India will not only respond to terror threats at its doorstep but, if required, will enter terrorists’ hideouts to eliminate them.
Addressing the Forces First Conclave in New Delhi, Rajnath Singh said the Government of India’s policy of “zero tolerance” towards terrorism is not merely a slogan but a firm and decisive line of action. Referring to India’s security doctrine, he said the country’s armed forces have demonstrated their capability and determination to strike terrorists wherever necessary.
The Defence Minister highlighted that India’s response to terrorism has evolved significantly, adding that the country has made it clear that those involved in terror activities will not be spared. He said India has adopted a proactive approach to safeguard its sovereignty and national security, stressing that decisive action will continue against terror networks.
Rajnath Singh also underlined the rapid growth of India’s indigenous defence manufacturing sector, saying the country is emerging as a reliable global security partner. He noted that India’s strategic influence is expanding from the Indian Ocean to the Indo-Pacific region, supported by increasing self-reliance in defence production and modernisation of the armed forces.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to national security, the Defence Minister said India’s armed forces remain fully prepared to protect the nation’s interests and effectively counter every security challenge.(KNC)
