Congress Leader Muzamil Mushtaq Demands Inquiry Into LPG Crisis

Anantnag: State General Secretary of the Congress, Advocate Muzamil Mushtaq, has raised serious questions over the ongoing LPG crisis, pointing to a sharp contradiction between government claims and the ground reality. While the administration asserts there is a 15-day buffer stock, Mushtaq highlighted that citizens continue to return empty-handed from distribution points, fueling suspicions of artificial scarcity and black marketing.

Muzamil while talking to media said that there is a growing suspicion among the public that either the supply chain is being mismanaged or certain distributors are deliberately withholding stock to create artificial scarcity for black marketing and profiteering. If this is true, it is a matter of grave concern and exploitation of common citizens, he said

Added that Cooking gas is not a luxury but a basic necessity for every household. Any disruption in its availability directly affects daily life, especially for poor and middle-class families. The administration cannot afford to ignore this issue. He said

We strongly urge the government to immediately intervene, conduct a transparent inquiry into the distribution system, and fix accountability at every level. Strict action must be taken against anyone found involved in hoarding or malpractice. At the same time, proper monitoring mechanisms should be put in place to ensure that the supply reaches the people without any hindrance. The public deserves clarity, fairness, and timely access to essential commodities. The government must act now before the situation worsens further.” He said
