Anantnag, April 26, :: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and District Vice President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), urging its leadership to introspect on its past actions before criticizing others.

Shah questioned the PDP’s alliance with the BJP, alleging that it was formed for “family comforts and political adjustments.” He stated that the party had “compromised its conscience for power” and must be held accountable for its governance in Jammu and Kashmir.

He further called upon PDP President Mehbooba Mufti to clarify her position during her tenure, particularly regarding the ban on Jamaat-e-Islami and the closure of Falah-e-Aam schools in 2016. Shah alleged that the period witnessed a “reign of terror,” marked by the use of pellet guns and the detention of thousands of youths. He also expressed concern over those who suffered injuries and long-term disabilities during that time.

Accusing the PDP of corruption and failing the youth, Shah said the party must explain allegations of job scams and administrative shortcomings. He added that the PDP leadership, now out of power, is “shedding crocodile tears” in an attempt to mislead the public and regain power for personal interests.

Shah also thanks Hon’ble CM Omar Abdullah, RDD minister Javid Ah Dar and MLA Anantnag, for special consideration by making Hard-Turoo a modern village and termed it a way forward towards restoration of age old historical significance of these areas which were left on mercy by previous PDP regime deapite having mandate and support but instead they prefered to indulge in loot and nepotism.

On the occasion, several senior PDP workers including Ab Rehman Reshi, Gh Nabi Sheikh, M Altaf Shah, Peer imam Deen, Gh Hasan Dar, Bashir Ah Dar and Gh Nabi Hajam and others joined the National Conference and reposed faith and confidence in the party, citing its pro-people policies and major decisions taken in the interest of the general public.
