Anantnag: A massive safety lapse has come to light at Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, as reports have surfaced of patients being treated with expired DNS (Dextrose Normal Saline). The negligence has sparked immediate calls for accountability.

According to reports the incident has been reported at Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag where a patient was allegedly administered expired glucose (intravenous fluid) during medical treatment in surgical ward at third floor of the hospital.

The matter came to light when the patient’s attendants carefully checked the label on the glucose bottle and noticed that the expiry date had already passed. They immediately brought the issue to the attention of the hospital staff and raised strong objections regarding the use of expired medical supplies.

Following the discovery, the attendants expressed concern about the safety of the patient and questioned the hospital authorities about how such negligence could occur in a major government healthcare institution.

The incident quickly spread among other patients and their attendants present in the hospital, creating panic and anger within the premises.

As the information circulated, a number of attendants  gathered inside the hospital and staged protests against the alleged negligence.

The protesters demanded a thorough investigation into the matter and strict action against the staff members found responsible for administering expired glucose to the patient.

Meanwhile, Nationvoice101 tried to contact the Medical Superintendent, but the official said he was busy in a meeting and ended the call.
