Srinagar, Mar 5: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday participated in the Startup Outreach Programme under the Jammu and Kashmir Climate Innovation Programme (JKCIP) at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu.
During the programme, the Chief Minister interacted with students, young entrepreneurs and representatives of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), encouraging them to explore opportunities in innovation and entrepreneurship.
Addressing the gathering, Omar Abdullah stressed that the youth must transition from being job-seekers to job-creators and urged them to utilise innovation to build sustainable enterprises. He said that initiatives like JKCIP are playing a significant role in strengthening the startup ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the vast potential of agriculture and allied sectors in the Union Territory, stating that such programmes are helping nurture innovation, support startups and create new avenues for employment and entrepreneurship among the youth. (KNC)
