Media delegation from J&K calls on the Governor of Kerala

4th February, 2026, Tiruvanatapuram : Kerala Governor Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar today said that Kerala and Jammu & Kashmir are bound by profound spiritual and cultural connections that transcend geography and time, while interacting with a media delegation from Jammu & Kashmir at Lok Bhavan on Tuesday. The visit was part of a media tour organised by the Press Information Bureau, Srinagar, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Highlighting Kerala’s rich spiritual and cultural legacy, the Governor cited the historic link between the two regions through Adi Shankaracharya, the philosopher-saint born in Kerala, who is believed to have established the Sharada Peetha in Srinagar. This, he said, stands as a lasting symbol of the civilisational ties between Kerala and Kashmir.
