Meticulous Planning Underway for Seamless Nasha Mukt J&K Padyatra: Div Com Kashmir

SRINAGAR, APRIL 30: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, on Thursday directed all departments to ensure meticulous execution of plans for the successful and seamless conduct of the upcoming Nasha Mukt J&K Padyatra scheduled on May 3.

Chairing a high-level review meeting, the Divisional Commissioner stressed precision, coordination, and effective inter-departmental synergy. The meeting was attended by senior officials including DIG Central Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Commissioner SMC, Director Information & Public Relations, Director Health Services, SSP Traffic, and heads of key departments such as School Education, Higher Education, Transport, Culture, Hospitality & Protocol, and Tribal Affairs.

He emphasized advance planning, directing departments to formally invite stakeholders and special guests well ahead of the event. Special focus was laid on arrangements at the Football Stadium, the designated venue for the flag-off ceremony, as well as along the route and at the culmination point.

Officials were instructed to ensure installation of pandals and adequate seating arrangements for VVIPs, dignitaries, and participants. Participants have been directed to reach the venue before 7:30 AM to ensure timely commencement.

Regarding transportation, a nodal officer has been tasked with preparing a comprehensive movement plan to facilitate smooth travel of students and participants, ensuring sufficient transport availability at designated points.

The Information Department has been assigned to enhance outreach through installation of a Public Address System (PAS), preparation of a theme-based video, display of anti-drug pledges on digital screens, and creation of thematic flags and banners.

To boost public engagement, the Divisional Commissioner also called for the formation of a human chain by students from the venue up to Polo View.

The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar has been directed to ensure availability of essential services along the entire route. Meanwhile, the Culture Department will organize thematic performances, while the Hospitality & Protocol Department will arrange refreshments for participants in advance and for VVIPs at the venue.

Security and crowd management will be handled by the Police Department, which will also deploy a police band for the event.

Reiterating the importance of the initiative, the Divisional Commissioner said the padyatra is a significant step towards promoting a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir and called for coordinated efforts from all departments to ensure its success.(KNC)
