Anantnag, May 16: Senior National Conference leader and Vice District President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, on Saturday expressed gratitude to the party leadership, particularly senior leader and Hon’ble MLA Anantnag West, Ab Majeed Bhat (larmi) for the release of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for the long-pending drainage project at Nandpora Khanabal near the Girls School.
Shah said the project had remained pending for a considerable period, causing immense inconvenience to local residents, especially during adverse weather conditions. He stated that the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference believes in delivering tangible work on the ground rather than indulging in mere lip service and hollow promises.
Criticising the previous regime, Shah alleged that Anantnag witnessed severe neglect during its tenure due to corruption and misgovernance. He said the PDP leadership must answer for the present situation that Jammu and Kashmir has been facing.
He further demanded a thorough investigation into the alleged misuse of public funds during the PDP regime, particularly regarding the allotment of works and the functioning of former municipal authorities. Shah alleged that contracts were awarded to close associates at the cost of public welfare, resulting in choked drains, dilapidated roads, and poor civic infrastructure across various areas of Anantnag.
Reiterating the party’s commitment towards the welfare of the people, Shah said that the has always stood with the masses and remains fully dedicated to addressing the genuine issues faced by the public.
