Annatang, 31 January 2026: In connection with the 77th republic day celebrations, the department of Pediatrics GMC Anantnag distributes appreciation certificates among its staff members at the new Pediatrics block of MMABM Associated Hospital. The certificates were distributed by Principal and Dean GMC Anantnag Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Najeeb in the presence of Deputy MS MCCH Associated Hospital Dr Mushtaq Ahmad and HOD Pediatrics Dr Showkat Hussain Tali.
The department presented a memento to the worthy principal recognising her tireless efforts to uplift the department and for playing a pivotal role in making it a Post graduate department in a very short span of time. It is worth mentioning that the department of Pediatrics is one of the 5 clinical departments of GMC Anantnag that have been awarded MD/MS seats by NMC from this year only.
Dr Mushtaq Ahmed deputy MS was also presented with a memento in recognition of his support for the department in most difficult times. The awards ceremony was attended by Dr Malik Shakir Hussain , Dr Bilal Ahmad Najar, Dr Jawad Nazir Wani, senior residents, PGs, medical officers, nursing and other support staff
Shifting the Pediatric department from MCH Sherbag to MMABM Hospital was not easy and it made all the employees of the department to face a tough time. Despite all the odds they came true to the expectations of the administration of GMC Anantnag. This award function was organised as a special tribute to honour the hardwork and extraordinary contribution of the staff to uplift the department of Pediatrics of GMC Anantnag.
