Anantang: Dr. Showkat Hussain Tali, Head of Department of Pediatrics, Government Medical College, has been appointed as the State Academic Coordinator for Jammu & Kashmir for the IAP-NRP-FGM Project ( Neonatal Resuscitation Programme) by the Indian Academy of Pediatrics, effective immediately through 31st December 2026.
The appointment letter was issued by the IAP NRP FGM Project Office, signed by Dr. Neelam Mohan Maheshwari, National President IAP 2026; Dr. Ruchira Maheshwari, Secretary General IAP 2026 & 2027; Dr. V P Goswami, National Chairman IAP NRP FGM Program; and Dr. Vishnu Mohan PT, National Coordinator IAP NRP.
The IAP has acknowledged Dr. Tali’s exceptional work and dedication to advancing neonatal resuscitation and healthcare. As State Academic Coordinator, he will play a key role in expanding the NRP network and strengthening leadership across the state in mission mode.
Dr. Showkat Hussain Tali is also a National Trainer for the Neonatal Resuscitation Programme (NRP; Basic and Advanced )* and for IAP ALS & BLS courses
He is further serving as the State Coordinator for IAP ALS & BLS courses for Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh
His appointment is being seen as a major recognition of pediatric academic leadership from the region and is expected to boost training, capacity building, and neonatal care standards across J&K and Ladakh.
